The son of a former Pakistani major general has been convicted in a case that demanded the resignation of an army chief

Karachi: Former Pakistani Major General’s son jailed for five years for demanding resignation of Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa Hasan Askar, son of Major General Zafar Mehdi Askar, has been indicted by a Pakistani military court. Hasan was charged with treason.

Hassan wrote a letter to General Bajwa asking him to resign. Hasan was represented by a military court-appointed lawyer at the July trial.

Zafar Mehd Askari had complained that he was not allowed to see his son who was lodged in the high security jail in Sahiwal.
