Young player Shubman Gill who is giving hope to Indian cricket with his brilliant performance was congratulated by former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan. The player who thrilled the fans with his century performance in the crucial match of the Twenty20 series against New Zealand also owned a handful of records.
Gill is the youngest player to score a century in children’s cricket. The player surpassed Suresh Raina’s record. The player scored 126 runs in 63 balls including seven sixes and 12 fours. Gill also achieved the rare feat of becoming the youngest player to score a century in all three formats of international cricket. It is also the highest individual score by an Indian player in Twenty20.
Pathan said that Gill can follow in Virat Kohli’s footsteps and become a force in world cricket. The batting style of the star made me a big fan of him. I’m sure he can be an all-format player. Virat Kohli has played in all formats for years. This battery has that capability too. It’s another thing to bring the talent of the star to the performance’ – explained Pathan.
Shubman Gill scored his first century in August. Pathan also says that the star has already scored six centuries in international cricket.
