Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) has delivered new news about ‘Final Fantasy 16’, which is highly anticipated as a new PS5 title. This is the story told by Square Enix Naoki Yoshida, who is in charge of development of the game.
Naoki Yoshida left some hints about the development secrets and future of ‘Final Fantasy 16’ in a question-and-answer format with SIE.
First of all, regarding the succession of the ‘Final Fantasy’ series in the past, he said, “When I played the original Final Fantasy, I recalled how I felt as if I was playing a leading role in the movie.” I wanted to feel the mood again, this time with cutting-edge game design and the latest modern technology.”
In addition, the logo containing the core theme of the game expresses the appearance of two icons facing each other, implying that they contain many meanings. The logo of ‘Final Fantasy 16’ expresses the confrontation between the two summoned beasts ‘Phoenix’ and ‘Ifrit’, so it is estimated that they have a very large proportion in the main story.
Some of the development status at this point has also been reported. Currently, ‘Final Fantasy 16’ has reached a stage where it can be played from the beginning of the game to the end, and it is explained that it is in the process of adjusting the play difficulty through voice work and numerous tests, finalizing the cutscenes, and debugging. In particular, when it comes to driving PS5 hardware, the biggest strength is the change in gameplay speed through fast loading speed.
In addition, Naoki Yoshida mentioned ‘Bahamut’ as his favorite series traditional summoner, and said that he would play an important role in the story of ‘Final Fantasy 16’.
