Dubai: The Dubai Road Transport Authority (DRTA) has successfully completed the testing phase of its self-driving cars. Cars will be on the roads of Dubai in 2023 without a driver or steering wheel. The Dubai Road Transport Authority said traffic rules and procedures would be finalized next year.
At the current Dubai Expo venues, driverless vehicles are being serviced on certain lanes. Some companies have volunteered to use these vehicles to deliver goods to certain areas. Driverless vehicles will also start plying at airports, ports and construction sites.

It also plans to make 5% of Dubai taxis driverless. With this, Dubai will be the first city after the US to have this facility. Electric Autonomous Air Taxi (AAT) will also take off soon. Driverless vehicles powered by artificial intelligence have the capability to monitor other vehicles and pedestrians.
