The third ODI was interrupted by rain; Series to New Zealand (1-0)

Christchurch: India-New Zealand 3rd ODI abandoned due to rain. With this, New Zealand won the series 1-0. New Zealand won the first match of the ODI series. The second match was stopped by the rain. Rain came when New Zealand were batting against India in the third ODI. The match, initially postponed due to rain, was later abandoned.

Earlier, losing both the batting and batting, India were all out for 219 in 47.3 overs. The performance of Washington Sundar, who scored a half-century, and Shreyas Iyer, who scored 49 runs, saved India from a massive collapse. Sundar scored 51 runs off 64 balls and Shreyas Iyer scored 49 runs off 59 balls.

Skipper Shikhar Dhawan scored 28 runs off 45 balls. Shubman Gill (12 runs off 22 balls), Rishabh Pant (10 runs off 16 balls), Suryakumar Yadav (six runs off 10 balls), Deepak Hooda (12 runs off 25 balls), Deepak Chahar (12 runs off on nine balls) and Yuzvendra Chahal (eight off 22 balls) Runs) and Arshadeep Singh (nine off nine balls) failed to contribute significantly.

Adam Milne and Daryl Mitchell took three wickets each for New Zealand. Tim Southee, Lockie Ferguson and Mitchell Santner took a wicket each. The rain came when New Zealand came out to bat in reply and scored 104 runs for the loss of one wicket in 18 overs.

Earlier in the three-match Twenty20 series, only one match was played in an over. India won. While another game was completely postponed, rain came during the third game as well. It was a draw. With India’s series winners match.
