The woman can’t even imagine – Rob Burrow | Wife | A Love Story | A way of life

Rob Burrow was a legendary player from Leeds Rhinos, the professional rugby league team in England. Leeds Rhinos won eight Super League Finals under Robin. But in 2019, Rob was diagnosed with motor neurone disease, which affects the nervous system. With this, Rob retired from rugby. Rob’s life was gradually confined to a wheelchair. Nothing can be done now without help. This 40-year-old man communicates using a keyboard controlled by his eyes.

It was his wife, Lindsay, who gave Rob the strength to keep his confidence going when the disease made his life miserable. Caring for her husband and three children, Lindsay also works as a physiotherapist. Rob is taken everywhere in a wheelchair. They are at the forefront of Rob’s campaign to raise awareness of motor neurone disease.

Rob shares his desire not to be alone after the death of his wife, the hero of his life. Lindsay revealed in an interview with British media outlet The Mirror that Rob would always say, ‘You’ve got to find someone else after I’m dead.’ But this request from her husband hurts her. Lindsay says she can’t imagine anyone else taking Rob’s place. They married in 2006. Lindsay said she used to dance with Rob’s sister and Rob bought her number through friends.

Three years ago, the doctors said that Rob would only live for two years at most. But Rob says he will fight to the last breath to see his children, aged ten, seven and three, grow up. Rob was awarded the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire in 2021 in recognition of his efforts to raise awareness of motor neurone disease.
