Coach Lionel Scaloni is one of the heroes behind Argentina’s success in Qatar, along with Lionel Messi. After the 2018 World Cup, Scaloni took over as co-coach when Jorge Sampaoli resigned. Along with leading the team to victory, Lionel Scoloni is now the best coach of the football team. Scoloni was chosen for the award by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics. Scaloni got 240 votes while France coach Deschamps got 45 votes. Walid Regraghi, who led Morocco to fourth place in the World Cup, finished third with 30 votes.
Born in Argentina in 1978, Scaloni played as a wing-back for the Argentine national team between 2003 and 2006. At the age of 16, he joined the famous Newell Old Boys Club in Rosario. The first professional appearance was made. 18 year club career in Spain, England and Italy. He became a professional trainer in 2016.
