Swatch has been selling ‘Moonwatch’, a product in collaboration with Omega, at stores around the world since the 26th. Both brands are watch brands under the Swatch Group.

However, as soon as the news of the release of the watch was announced, there was a scene where customers flocked to stores from around the world even before the opening. Long lines were lined up in front of Swatch stores not only in Korea but also in major cities around the world, such as Geneva, Milan, Hong Kong, and Tokyo.

The product released this time is a reinterpretation of the ‘Speedmaster Moonwatch’, a symbolic product of OMEGA, a Swiss luxury watch brand.

The Moonwatch is a watch that accompanied NASA’s manned spacecraft, Apollo 11, on a historic lunar mission in 1969. As a leading luxury watch brand along with Rolex, the new price is over 9 million won.

Although the ‘Speedmaster Moonwatch’ released this time is a collaborative product, you can feel the atmosphere of Omega. This popularity was expected as it was sold at a price of 300,000 won here.

The popularity of the watch can also be confirmed on the resale (used) platform. Currently, the same product has an immediate purchase price of 1 to 1.5 million won on average in Stock X and Cream.

However, some netizens responded that they did not understand. They said, “It’s not a limited edition, and it was announced that they would release the quantity, but I don’t know why they’re selling it at such a high price.”

In this regard, Swatch Korea said on its website, “Due to the unexpected explosive demand, we have decided to limit the purchase of one watch per person until further notice. We will make adjustments to accommodate them.”
