A teenage girl injured after falling from a building in Daegu died after waiting in an ambulance for two hours because she could not find a hospital for treatment. Police are investigating whether the hospital was negligent.

According to the Daegu Bukbu Police Station on the 28th, around 2:15 pm on the 19th, in an alley in Daehyeon-dong, Buk-gu, Miss A (17) fell from a 4-story building and injured her right ankle and left head. After the accident, the ambulance team rushed to the scene at 2:34 pm after a witness reported, but Ms. A moved to a general hospital in Dong-gu, but she was refused hospitalization because “there was no specialist. “

The 119 ambulance team dispatched to the regional trauma center of Kyungpook National University Hospital arrived 20 minutes later, but had to return again after hearing the reply that it could not be accommodated due to the large number of emergency patients. Even after that, the paramedics moved to two other places, including a general hospital in Daegu, but they cannot be in this hospital, and the paramedics had to keep calling to find a hospital and could handle them.

However, it was not until 4:30 pm, two hours after being loaded into the ambulance vehicle, that Miss A went into cardiac arrest while being transferred to a general hospital in Dalseo-gu. Emergency crews, who were in a hurry, performed CPR and moved Miss A, who was in cardiac arrest, to Daegu Catholic University Hospital, but they had already missed the golden time. At the time, it was known that the Daegu Fire and Safety Headquarters had made phone inquiries to almost every hospital in Daegu to save A.

The police investigating the case are also investigating to see if there was any negligence on the part of the hospital officials.

A police official said, “We intend to investigate the hospital and the fire authorities to see if there were any problems in the process of transporting Miss A.”
