Nearly 50 companies entered the IPO market this year, and there was no place for small and medium-sized securities firms to enter. Most IPOs are dominated by large securities firms.

According to the financial investment industry on the 2nd, a total of 46 companies (excluding specifications for corporate mergers and acquisitions) that made an IPO from January to July of this year, 13 securities companies (excluding overseas) acted as the sole or co-representative organizer.

Among them, 34 large securities firms with equity capital of 4 trillion won or more (as of March) were the main organizers, accounting for 73.9% of the total. According to the Capital Market Act, securities companies with equity capital of 4 trillion won or more are seven companies that can apply for mega investment bank (IB) authorization.

Currently, 7 of the 37 domestic securities companies have virtually monopolized the IPO market.

Mirae Asset Securities(8,930 -1.87%)Most of these 11 companies were representatives (including co-hosts). Next, Korea Investment & Securities (7 locations), NH Investment & Securities(12,700 -0.78%)(5 locations), Samsung Securities(44,250 0.00%)(5 places), Hana Financial Investment (4 places), Shinhan Investment Finance (3 places), and KB Securities (2 places) were in that order.

Daishin Securities among securities companies with a capital of not less than 1 trillion and less than 4 trillion won(17,900 -2.98%)(6) was the most. Kiwoom Securities(118,000 -1.26%) 3 places, Shinyoung Securities(64,300 -0.92%)and Hi Investment & Securities had one each.

Among the securities firms under 1 trillion won, only two were IBK Investment & Securities (one place) and DB Investment Finance (one place) in charge of the lead organizer.

Through IPO, securities firms support companies to raise funds and go public, and earn profits at a certain percentage of all costs. Usually, about 0.8% of each acquisition amount is received as a commission.

However, as competition intensifies, it is more difficult for small and medium-sized companies to gain an edge over large securities firms. This is because the organizers of major companies that are receiving a lot of attention from the market are not even able to afford it.

SK IE Technology, which raised the largest margin(225,500 +0.22%)In the case of , Mirae Asset Securities and JP Morgan took over as the leading organizer, and large and foreign securities companies took over. As a small and medium-sized securities company, SK Securities(973 0.00%)Only participated in the takeover group.

Kakao, which recently closed its public offering(147,000 -1.01%)In the case of banks, among small and medium-sized companies, Hyundai Motor Securities(12,750 -1.16%)I was put on this list of acquisitions. In Krafton’s public offering, which will start offering shares from the 2nd, Mirae Asset Securities is the main organizer and 6 securities companies participate, but there are no small and medium-sized securities companies.
