Kochi: The High Court has ordered the final report of the further investigation into the actress assault case to be submitted on Friday. The High Court did not accept the prosecution’s request to extend the time till Monday. Atijeevta demanded that the crime branch be allowed to carry out a detailed investigation. The prosecution requested the High Court to extend the period and for this it should be at least three weeks.
The prosecution said that the cyber forensic report and the disclosure and remarks of former DGP R Srilekha should be examined. The High Court hearing the case asked to submit the final report. The final report of the inquiry was to be submitted on July 15. The prosecution asked the court for one more week to bind and submit the supplementary material.
However, the court said that it cannot give that much time. Time has been given till Friday for further investigation and submission of final report. The court has made an assessment that the revelations made by former DGP R Srilekha are not related to the case.
Atijeevta, who reached the court today, requested that the prosecution be given time for a detailed investigation. They said that the leaked footage of the case was suspicious and demanded further investigation. The High Court bench also asked to be removed from hearing the case, but the court did not accept it. The court also pointed out that this is a case heard earlier.
