The most classic partnership in Indian cricket was born in the last ODI between India and England. Wicket-keeper-batter Rishabh Pant and star all-rounder Hardik Pandya formed a winning partnership for India.

While Hardik Pandya attacked from one side, the ball was played anchoring the innings from the other side. When Pandya scored 71 runs from 55 balls and Ball shone with the first century of his ODI career, India was in control of the third ODI and the series.

Now, former Indian player and cricket analyst Sunil Gavaskar has come out praising both of them. Gavaskar said that both of them can make a pair like Yuvraj Singh and Dhoni.

Sunil Gavaskar’s response was to Sports Tak.

‘Yes, Hardik Pandya and Rishabh Pant can definitely form a pair like Yuvraj and Dhoni.

Both of them are capable of hitting huge sixes. They can also run very well under the wicket,’ said Gavaskar.

Gavaskar said that Hardik made his comeback at the right time. He added that Hardik, who conceded only 24 runs with the bat and took four wickets, will be an asset to India in the World Cup team.

The player took four wickets including that of captain Jos Buttler. Apart from Buttler, Liam Livingston, Ben Stokes and Jason Roy were the hot takers of Hardik’s pace.

When the innings started, India needed 261 runs to win.

India got off to a rough start. Shikhar Dhawan was out in the third over after scoring just one run. After this, England shocked India by dismissing captain Rohit in the fifth over.

Former skipper Virat and Suryakumar Yadav were out quickly, but Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya brought India back into the match.

Hardik reached the crease when he was standing at four for 72. Then it was the iconic partnership of the two that helped India. Hardik got out before reaching victory but teamed up with Jadeja to win India.
