Mumbai: TV star and Bigg Boss contestant Kamya Punjabi has joined the Congress. The actress received her primary membership from state president Bhai Jagtapl today at the party headquarters in Dadar West. “I want to join politics and serve the country,” she said.
‘We want to focus on women’s empowerment and domestic violence. I have experienced this for years. I come into politics for a strong reason. My first love is acting, not greed for power. It will continue. Joining politics is not for fun. Not to make money or be part of power. I got a lot of it ‘, said Kamya Punjabi.
Political observer Tehseen Poonavalla was also present on the occasion. Tehseen said he was confident Kamya would serve the citizens. Kamya Punjabi has been featured in Hindi TV serials for more than two decades. The actor has already acted in more than 30 serials. His colleagues, including his colleagues, came out to congratulate him on joining the Congress.
