This is the first time in the 145 year history of men’s Test cricket; Blundell has a rare achievement

Karachi: This is a first in the 145-year history of men’s Test cricket! New Zealand wicketkeeper Tom Blundell has achieved a rare feat. Blundell achieved a rare record during the first cricket Test against Pakistan.

Blundell holds the record of becoming the first player in history to take the first two wickets in men’s test cricket by stumping. Blundell surprised by hitting Pakistan’s Abdullah Shafiq and Shan Masood.

Shafiq, who won the toss and opened the innings for Pakistan, was dismissed first by Ajaz Patel. Blundell created history by stumping Shan Masood who came in at third through Michael Bracewell’s delivery.

Before this, such an incident had happened in women’s cricket. The first two wickets fell by stumping during a West Indies Test match in 1976.

This is the first time since 2002 that New Zealand have played a Test match in Pakistan. After winning the toss and starting to bat, Pakistan scored 317 runs for the loss of five wickets at the end of the match on the first day. Babar Azam, who is unbeaten with 161 runs, top scored for Pakistan. Wicket keeper Sarfraz Ahmed also performed well with 86 runs. Bracewell and Ajaz Patel took two wickets for New Zealand while Tim Southee took one wicket.
