‘This morality of Indrans is relevant; Greetings’: Dr. Biju with a note

The actor had sent an e – mail to the chairman and secretary of the Indrans Academy yesterday requesting that he be removed from the board of directors of the Kerala Chalachithra Academy. Indrans said in an e-mail that he does not want his artwork to be rejected for being part of the academy, despite the fact that it has been working as part of various films and its cast has been sending their artwork, including to the Film Academy, for various awards.

Now, director Dr. Biju has come on the scene praising Indrans’ action. Dr. Biju said he thinks this morality is very relevant at a time when there are a lot of people doing anything for positions of power. Dr. Biju said in a Facebook post that he had taken the same stance when he was elected a member of the General Council of the Film Academy five years ago, at the beginning of the last academy.

Facebook post: I saw the news that Indrans Chettan had lovingly declined his membership of the General Council of the Film Academy. He said it was unethical for him to sit on the academy’s board of directors when it comes to award-winning films. Greetings for this morality. Five years ago, when I was elected a member of the General Council of the Film Academy at the beginning of the last academy, I took the same position and lovingly declined that position. When my films arrived to compete for the award, I was lovingly reminded that it was unethical to sit on the academy’s board of directors. This is perhaps the first time in the film academy that someone has decided not to take charge of the academy on moral grounds. Indrans Chettan was later nominated for an academy membership which fell vacant in the last year of his tenure. At that time he had withdrawn citing the same reason. Now he was nominated again and he stood firm in that position and lovingly rejected that position. Preserving morality is also the function of art. It’s also the politics of morality.
