New Delhi: The BCCI has decided not to hold the Ranji Trophy, one of the oldest tournaments in the country. This is the first time in the last 87 years that the Ranji Trophy has not been played.

The BCCI has announced that it will replace the Ranji Trophy with the Vijay Hazare Trophy. It will also host the Under-19 Vinod Mankad Trophy and the National Women’s Cricket Championship.

The Ranji Trophy will not be held this time due to Kovid problems. The BCCI had only two steps to take. But it will cost more. That is why the Ranji Trophy will not be held, said BCCI secretary Jay Shah.

The Vijay Hazare Trophy starts next month. Following the success of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, other tournaments will be held in the same manner.
