Thousands of students were trapped in university hostels

Thousands of students of the University of Islamabad were trapped in the hostels after the earthquakes in Islamabad, Lahore and Peshawar.

Due to the installation of turnstile gates in the hostels of the Islamic University at the time of the severe earthquake, the students could not go out, a large number of foreign students were also trapped in the hostels.

Later, the students forcibly broke the turnstile gate to get out in emergency, the angry students staged a strong protest in the university after the earthquake.

On this occasion, he said that due to the turnstile gate, a major accident can happen at any time, endangering the lives of thousands of students is tantamount to murder.

The protesting students demanded that the university administration immediately remove the turnstile gate, only one student can pass through the turnstile gate at a time.

Severe earthquake tremors were felt in various cities of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan including Islamabad. According to the Meteorological Department, the magnitude of the earthquake was recorded at 6.8, the epicenter of which was Afghanistan.
