“To celebrate our first business year, we decided to continue the tradition of returning to the community that supported our family for many years. If we are personally involved in Alzheimer's disease and dementia we are proud to be able to support our local chapter, ”says Sylvain Rivet, Syl Neighbor's Kitchen Owner. “On 18 December, we donated all sales from the day of our centenary celebrations at Syl Neighborhood Kitchen.” T
Many members of the public came out for breakfast, lunch and dinner to show their support during the day. Customers included those living with dementia and their care partners, who wanted a local business to see not only raising money but promoting much-needed awareness of the disease.
“The Society appreciates the generous support given by Sylvain and Becky Rivet from Neighborhood Kitchen as well as the customers who supported that day and the anonymous donor,” says Stephanie Leclair, Executive Director of the Alzheimer's Society. Sudbury-Manitoulin & District. “This not only helped to raise much needed funds for those in our community who are living with the dementia journey but who created an awareness that will encourage people to learn more about the Alzheimer's Society and how we can help”.
Funds donated from the day's sales will remain at local Neighborhood Kitchen and will support vital dementia programs and services that help to improve the quality of life of those affected.
