A terrifying ‘man-eating tiger’ that killed 9 people in the state of Bihar in north-east India has been shot.

The Hindustan Times reported that Indian police killed a man-eating tiger the day before after conducting a large-scale operation involving more than 200 people on the 9th local time.

A 16-year-old boy was bitten and killed by a tiger on the outskirts of the Balmiki Tiger Reserve in Champaran District, Bihar State, which borders Nepal on the 8th. Accidents followed, like my son being killed by a tiger.

The local police sent around 200 people, including forestry officers and snipers, to the operation to kill the tiger by sending up to two elephants. After more than six hours of operation, they found a tiger and shot it.

“We had to light fires and light torches every night to drive the tiger out,” said one of the residents. “There was no other way than to kill the tiger.”

However, the Hindustan Times reported that there was no concrete evidence to prove that the slain tiger was the one that killed nine residents.

According to the Indian government, there are an estimated 2,967 tigers in India in 2018, accounting for around 70% of the world’s tigers.
