Japan held a vote for the House of Representatives election today. In the evening, it was reported that a man was suspected of swinging a knife and spilling liquid to set fire in a moving tram. The Japan Broadcasting Association (NHK) reported earlier that the incident caused at least 6 people to be injured, but It was later reported that the number of injured had increased to eight. One of them was a 60-year-old man who was stabbed with a knife. He is currently in a coma and seriously injured. As the situation at the scene is unknown, the Yomiuri Shimbun reported that at least 15 people were injured.

The culprit was suspected of stabbing surrounding passengers with a knife in a moving Keio Line train at around 8 p.m., and spilling liquid into the car to set fire. The police have arrested suspects in their 20s to investigate the details of the incident.

Keio Electric Railway Company stated that the train is currently suspended at the national station. Although some passengers have been evacuated, the injured and the details of the situation are still unclear.

The Japan Broadcasting Association (NHK) reported that the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department stated that at about 8 p.m. today, a man was swinging a knife in the train on the Keio Line train near the National Station in Chofu City, Tokyo.

Relevant persons in the search said that the man also spilled liquid in the compartment and set fire, causing some seats to burn. The knife-wielding man appeared to be around 20 years old and was arrested by the police shortly after.

The Keio Line was affected by this case and has been suspended in both directions from 8:17 in the evening.
