New Delhi: Former Australian all-rounder Tom Moody may apply for the post of head coach of the Indian cricket team. Former World Cup winner and experienced coach Tom Moody is reportedly aiming for the position of head coach of the Indian team. Ravi Shastri is set to step down after the Twenty20 World Cup, Fox Sports reported.

Tom Moody, 56, is the director of Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He is also the director of Sri Lankan cricket and has previously expressed his desire to coach the Indian team. Tom Moody has applied for the post three times, including in 2017 and 2019. But so far the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not considered him.

Tom Moody has been wearing the Sunrisers coach’s shirt since 2013. It was under Moody’s that Hyderabad won the IPL title for the first time. Hyderabad was then led by David Warner. Hyderabad are currently coached by former England international Trevor Bayliss. Tom Moody has also coached Sri Lanka.
