Tonga’s first statement after volcanic eruption… 15m tsunami

According to foreign media sources on the 18th (local time), the Tongan government said in a statement on the same day that three people were killed, including one British woman, and there were numerous injuries.

On the 15th, a tsunami with a maximum height of 15m occurred due to a volcanic eruption, causing great damage. There are also islands where all the houses have collapsed.

Meanwhile, the Tongan government is monitoring additional volcanic activity while estimating the exact extent of the damage.
