[ポーランドの軍事基地 18日 ロイター] – On the 18th, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Milly, the head of the US military in uniform, visited a military base in Poland that supports the Ukrainian forces. He said it was still unclear how Russia would respond to the worsening war situation in Ukraine, and called on US forces to be more vigilant.

“The war is not going very well for Russia at the moment and we need to maintain a high level of readiness and vigilance,” Mily said in Warsaw after visiting the base.

At the base, he inspected air defense systems such as Patriot missiles in preparation for a Russian attack.

He was also briefed on the important support that US forces stationed at the base provide to Ukraine, including remote maintenance support for US weapons via secure video conferencing.

Milley said there was no heightened threat to US forces in Europe, but preparations were needed. “In war, you never know what’s going to happen next,” he said.

The reporters who were with Milley were asked not to reveal the name or location of the center.

Milley did not say what Putin’s next move would be, but said the war had entered a new phase and the Ukrainian military had taken the strategic lead. “So we will have to wait and see how Russia reacts,” he said.
