Canada’s rdnewsNOW looked back at the Toronto Blue Jays’ 2021 season on the 6th (Korean time) by rating each position. Toronto won 91 games, but handed over wildcard tickets to the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees.
The starting team was rated B. Even before the season started, there were not enough reliable starting pitchers other than ace Hyun-jin Ryu. However, in the second half, Toronto’s starting lineup improved a lot. Robbie Ray has emerged as a new ace, and transfer student Jose Verrios has also taken its place. Hyunjin Ryu, Steven Mats, and Younggun Alec Manoa were behind them.

He also gave A+ to Vladimir Guerrero Jr.’s first base and Marcus Semien’s second base. Bulgeju is sure to be on the AL MVP list after Shohei Ohtani (LA Angels). Semien showed off his value as an attacking central infielder with 45 home runs.
In addition, B+ was assigned to Beau Biset’s shortstop and B to Theosca Hernandez’s right field and Charlie Montoyo’s bench. George Springer’s center fielder received a B- for an injury issue. Luerdes Gurriel Jr.’s left fielder got a C+, Kevan Vizio and Santiago Espinal’s third base got a C, and Ryu’s best friend Danny Jansen’s catcher and bullpen got C-.
