[땡큐뉴스 / 이근우 기자] The game may be further delayed due to the re-spread of COVID-19.

British media ‘Football London’ reported on the 26th (Korean time), “The EPL Secretariat may postpone the match between Tottenham and Crystal Palace due to additional cases of COVID-19. The two teams were scheduled to play tomorrow, but at Crystal Palace, two staff members tested positive for COVID-19.”

Earlier this month, Tottenham Hotspur postponed several games due to the spread of cluster infections in the club, but as players return, they are working on schedules again. However, Crystal Palace recently had a confirmed case of Corona 19 in its squad.

At the game press conference on the 24th, coach Patrick Viera said, “We have had several cases of COVID-19 in the past few days. “We are doing everything we can to prevent the situation, but we are concerned because we do not know how the situation will play out over the next few days.”

Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace were scheduled to hold the EPL 19th round of the 2021-22 season at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, England on the 27th, but the situation changed due to an additional confirmed case at Crystal Palace.

Regarding this, the media said, “According to an EPL source, the secretariat has not yet made a decision, but it is highly likely to be canceled. Crystal Palace players postponed their trip to the hotel on Christmas Day until an official announcement was made.”

Meanwhile, it is known that Crystal Palace has expanded its COVID-19 test target.
