[시사포커스 / 이근우 기자] Will the January transfer window nightmare continue at Tottenham Hotspur?

British media ‘Football London’ reported on the 29th (Korean time), “Amrabat became Tottenham’s last target in the January transfer window. Tottenham have already missed a lot of players in the transfer market, and both Adama Traore (Wolverhampton) and Luis Diaz (FC Porto) are expected to move to other clubs.”

Earlier, manager Antonio Conte emphasized the recruitment of forwards, midfielders and wingbacks. The winger Traore was supposed to be used as a wing-back after signing from Tottenham, but he has moved to Barcelona for a medical test as his transfer to FC Barcelona has been swift.

Striker Diaz is also likely to leave for Liverpool. Director Jurgen Klopp looked to Diaz as a replacement for Sadio Mane. Liverpool were expected to wait until the summer transfer window, but they changed their plans as Tottenham stepped in.

Tottenham have struggled with a contract after their first offer for Diaz was turned down. Locally, it was reported that Tottenham and Porto had agreed to a transfer fee of £48 million (about 77.8 billion won), but according to the British media ‘The Sun’, Diaz’s agent Jorge Mendes opposed it.

In the end, Tottenham only had to sign Amrabat on loan, but even that is not easy. Amrabat is a player who has been pushed out of the competition. However, he was a key player in charge of Fiorentina’s midfield before the appointment of Vincenzo Italiano as manager.

Several clubs are showing interest in Amrabat amid delays in negotiations between Tottenham and Fiorentina. This is similar to the loss of Traore and Diaz to other clubs.

Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur signed former Juventus general manager Fabio Paratici before this season, but they were unable to avoid criticism as they sent the January transfer window without any clear results.
