Transmitting Metaverse from Muroto City, Kochi Prefecture!Elementary school students create tree houses with VR | University of Kochi

This time, as part of the SAWACHI-style healthy society co-creation project, we held a hands-on learning event using VR for elementary school students in Muroto City at the Disaster Prevention Community Center (Nao District, Muroto City) . In this project, we are working on disaster prevention education using VR in order to realize an industry-academic-government co-creation system with the creation of the HealthTech industry as a breakthrough, and to develop a large plate “SAWACHI Park” that receives challengers who are not afraid to fail. . This time, we held a hands-on learning event for elementary school students to raise their awareness of disaster prevention through VR technology.

Based on the theme “Let’s create a space that is safe, secure, and right!” I imagined the space that I think is most necessary for the virtual space (metaverse). The Metaverse created was uploaded to an online VR platform and distributed to the world.

Each of the participating elementary school students created their own “comfort space”, and through the process, deepened their understanding of the Metaverse and VR. I learned about disaster prevention and wellness.

The voice of the participant
● (Creating the Metaverse was actually) fun, I want to do it again, I want to do it in a bigger space next time
Working with a computer was difficult but fun
● It’s amazing that you were able to send it out into the world
