Tribute to Kovid fighters; The RCB will play its first match in the UAE in a blue jersey

Abu Dhabi: Royal Challengers Bangalore kick off second phase of IPL 14th season in UAE with tributes to Kovid-19 fighters. Wear the RCB blue jersey for the match against Kolkata Knight Riders on September 20 in Abu Dhabi. The match will be played at 7.30 pm.

The RCB had announced last May that it would play in the IPL in a blue shirt in honor of the Kovid fighters. However, the attempt failed as the tournament was halted due to the spread of Kovid in the IPL bio-bubble.

The RCB players will take on KKR on the 20th wearing blue jerseys. The blue jersey is reminiscent of the PPE kit of Kovid front fighters. The RCB also tweeted that it was honoring their invaluable service during the epidemic.

Leading players like RCB captain Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Glenn Maxwell and Mohammad Siraj have arrived in the UAE for the second round of the IPL. Kohli and Siraj arrived in the UAE from Manchester on a chartered flight shortly after Team India abandoned the final Test of their tour of England. The team is training in the UAE under the supervision of coach Mike Hess.

Royal Challengers Bangalore are aiming to play in the play-offs for the second consecutive season in the IPL. Kohli’s RCB are currently third in the points table with five wins from seven matches. Delhi Capitals will start the season first and Chennai Super Kings second. The remaining matches of the 14th season of the IPL will kick off with the Mumbai Indians-Chennai Super Kings clash on September 19 in Dubai.
