President Trump urged on Wednesday that the hosts of late night “one-sided” night talk shows focused on him, taking comments this week at Jay Leno's former Show Show host that the job became more difficult in Trump era.
In a morning tweet, the president asked for the “unwatchable” and “very boring” shows.
He gave an interview on Tuesday on the NBC “Today” show where Leno said he will not lose a late night show because these days “everyone needs to know your politics.”
Leno, who organized his last program in 2014, said he liked the long-standing model of his predecessor, Johnny Carson.
“People couldn't find out,” Leno said. “Well, you and your Republican friends' or Len Well, Mr. Leno, you and your democratic friends. 'And I'd get a nice email from both sides fairly.'
“But when people see you as one-side, it's just tough,” continued Leno. “Now it's very serious. I would like to see a bit of peace returning to him, you know? ”
Leno also said that it is more difficult to provide jokes about Trump.
“People say,‘ Oh, it must be easy to make jokes with Trump, ”he said. “No, it's really harder, as the punchline of the joke,, is like the president's porn star.” Well, now the president is a porn star. Where do you go with that? How do you get more than that?
Leno was referring to alleged sexual contact by Trump with the adult movie star Stormy Daniels more ten years earlier than he refused. Daniels was paid footprints during the 2016 presidential campaign.
Trump has tackled another comedy-oriented comedy, including “Saturday Night Live, NBC”, called “very unfair” in a tweet last month.
“The question is, how do the Networks go out of these Republican positions without redesign?” He wrote.
