Two defendants were injured by the beating of the plaintiff when they came to appear in court

Lakshmipur came to appear in the court. Two persons named Farid (34) and Abdul Quader (46) were beaten up by the plaintiff in the case. On calling the National Emergency Service 999, members of the Laxmipur city police outpost came and rescued them.

The incident took place on Tuesday (March 21) afternoon on the way home on the west side of Madam Bridge adjacent to Lakshmipur District Judge Court.

The injured Farid is the son of Abul Bashar of Bholakot village in Bholakot union of Ramganj upazila and Kader is the son of Anwar Ulya of the same area.

On the other hand, accused Jewel and Saiful are sons of Syed Ahmed of Bholakot village. Former member of Jewel Upazila Jubo League.

Farid and Quader, the victims of the attack, said that on February 13, Saiful filed a case against five of them in the Senior Judicial Magistrate Court. The other accused are Shahidul Islam Mohan, Arif Hossain and Nizam Uddin Manik. They are on bail in the case. They came to court on Tuesday. In the meantime, Farid and Quader boarded a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw for Ramganj from in front of the court.

Saiful and Jewel stopped their auto-rickshaw when they reached the western side of Madam Bridge. Later, they took Farid and Kader out of the auto-rickshaw and beat them up. At one point they ran into the court premises. After calling the National Emergency Service 999, the police rescued them and took them to Sadar Hospital. They were given first aid there.

Victim Md. Farid said, showing party power, Jewel has taken over 40 acres of land belonging to 35 local farmers and is cultivating fish by making a pond. We also have land there. The real owners of the land were attacked when they protested. He filed a case against us with his brother Saiful in the incident arranged on February 11. When I came to appear in that case, I was again attacked by them. Jewel’s forces are in the area. We are insecure about their attacks.

Yunus Ali Mintu, the lawyer for the defendant, said that Farid and Kader were attacked on their way home from attendance. This is disgusting.

Jewel and his brother called Saiful’s mobile several times to get the statement, but they did not receive the call.

Lakshmipur City Police Outpost Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Md. Ismail said, after calling 999, two people were rescued and taken to the hospital for treatment. I have asked them to file a written complaint at the police station.
