“Two ships belonging to the Chinese government enter Japan’s territorial waters”

Japanese media reported that two Chinese ships entered Japanese territorial waters near the Senkaku Islands (Chinese name Diaoyutao) today (25th).

Four Chinese coast guard ships were found in the waters of an uninhabited island under Japanese jurisdiction that day, and two of them entered Japanese territorial waters at around 2:35 a.m., Kyodo News reported, citing the Japan Coast Guard.

In particular, a 76mm gun was one of the two ships that entered Japan’s territorial waters, the news agency said.

Japanese patrol boats demanded that the ships leave Japan’s territorial waters immediately, and the four moved to nearby areas outside territorial waters this afternoon, the Japanese Coast Guard said.

Kyodo News reported that the attack by a Chinese ship on Japanese waters was the 32nd this year and the first since the 13th.

The Senkaku Islands are an area where Japan and China have long had territorial disputes.

Previously, at a summit meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping held on the 17th, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida expressed “serious concerns about the situation in the East China Sea, including the Senkaku Islands,” to President Xi.
