Two women killed and killed in Minneapolis, suspected police search

Two women were shot and killed in the complex of a Saturday apartment in the vicinity of Marcy Holmes near St Anthony Main.

Officials were sent to the apartment building in block 300 of 2nd Avenue SE at 10:30 p.m. Saturday's report on "refusing sounds of shots."

Minneapolis's police spokesman John Elder says when officials came to find two dead women inside an apartment.

News release from MPD says "suspects or suspects failed on the spot before the officer came."

Elder explained that the two women and their relationships with each other would be identified from the Office of the Medical Examiner. But he clarified that one woman was 60 and the other woman was 40th.

"The unit investigators have killed MPD all night talking to people who live in that area, people who are in the area to see or hear," said Elder.

Apart from helping medical calls or EMS creams, Elder said that the area often does not call MPD.

"This is not a field when we have high crime or anything of this," said Elder. He asks everyone to be alert and talk up if he looks something out of the ordinary.

"We invite people to use their regular warning skills we use when we are out in public, when we are in other places," Elder said. "It's its own personal safety."

Apart from the murder investigation proceedings, Elder said they have MPD community outreach officers in the neighborhood to secure people for their safety as well as answering questions if any of them.
