The mobility ‘super app’ UT will be launched in earnest. While focusing on coexistence, it is aspiration to introduce various services through the expansion of affiliate taxis, new services, and linkage with Uber.

UT, a joint venture between global mobility platform Uber and Tmap Mobility, held an online meeting on the 1st and announced the release of an integrated application (app). The meeting was attended by UT CEO Tom White and UT Chief Operating Officer Kim Ki-nyeon.

UT is ‘Our Taxi’, which contains the meaning of coexistence and development between passengers and the local community. Prioritizing safety from the initial stage of service, and emphasizing a system that can be win-win for both taxi companies and passengers, also focused on coexistence.

The integrated UT app is characterized by combining Tmap’s navigation technology and Uber’s platform technology. Regarding the taxi calling service, you can use the affiliated taxi UT Taxi and the brokerage calling service. Taxi calling service is operated nationwide. In the case of operating taxis, the number of affiliated taxis will be expanded to 10,000 within this year, and more than 10,000 will be added next year.

We offer a variety of services. By rebranding the large sedan-based ‘UT Black’, premium services are also strengthened, and the taxi sharing service ‘UT Pool (tentative name)’ solves the problem of shortage of taxis during rush hours, and at the same time provides a quick dispatch service to passengers. It also adds new services such as UT Flash.

During times of peak demand, higher fares are set to induce taxi supply, while during times of low travel demand, fares are lowered to attract passengers.

In addition, a pre-determined rate system will be added to UT Taxi, a member taxi service, as soon as permission is obtained from the relevant authorities. The pre-determined fare system is a system in which the fare is notified in advance on the app based on the destination entered by the passenger and the fare is determined in advance. do.

An integrated link service with the Uber app is also noteworthy. Users who use the UT app in Korea can conveniently use the same service abroad. Users who used the Uber app abroad can also use the UT service in Korea without installing a separate app. The UT app is equipped with an in-app message translation function, enabling smooth service use regardless of domestic and foreign countries.

UT further announced that it will expand its customer support center to 24 hours to reinforce its functions, and will also make an investment next year to minimize inconvenience in use.

CEO Tom White said, “This new UT app is the result of the efforts of many people, and it is as proud as expected.” While contributing to the growth of the market, the implementation of innovative technology will satisfy not only domestic users but also overseas users visiting Korea.”
