Ukraine digs up 146 bodies from Igeum mass burial site… 2 children included

Two additional bodies, including two children, were found at the Izium mass burial site in eastern Ukraine.

According to CNN and other sources on the 19th (local time), Kharkiv Governor Olech Signehuvou said that “an additional body, including two children, was found” at the mass burial site.

The majority are presumed to be civilians, and some have left traces of torture.

“There are traces of horrible deaths among the dead,” said Governor Signehuvou. “Also there are injuries from mine explosives, fragments and cuts,” he added.

The Mayor of Izium, Valery Marchenko, said the day before that the body will be exhumed over the next two weeks.

Ukraine has discovered a mass burial site in the recently recaptured Izium, a strategically important northeastern town. Ukraine’s defense ministry said they had found at least 440 graves with only unidentified crosses, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned Russia on the 16th, saying some of the bodies had traces of torture.

However, Russia has denied accusations of war crimes, including genocide of civilians.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on the 19th that Ukraine’s claims were “lies” and “of course we will reveal the truth.”

Separately, two additional bodies were also found in a car outside Kiiu, where the genocide of civilians by Russian soldiers at the start of the war was revealed. According to the secondary city council, volunteers patrolled the forest around the Warsaw freeway near Borzel while patrolling the forest.

Russia also denies allegations of genocide in the Bucha.
