Kyiv: Russia’s occupation of more villages in eastern Ukraine. The Russian army captured all settlements in the Luhansk region, including Lisichansk and Svierodonetsk. In the last 2 days in Harkiv 15 people were killed in Russian attacks.
One person was killed and several others were injured when a missile struck in the southern city of Mykalayev, destroying schools and homes. Seven missiles hit different parts of the city.
Ukraine-Russia war enters its 120th day tomorrow. Russia’s priority is to prevent a nuclear war, said Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabakov. The UK Defense Ministry says Russia is preparing to deploy more troops to the Donbass region, including Luhansk. The release of two Americans captured in Donetsk, which has declared itself a free zone, is being discussed.
Meanwhile, an explosion at an arms depot in Russia killed four people. One of the shells stored here was exploding. A fire broke out at a Russian refinery 8 km from the border with Ukraine. Russia has blamed drone strikes on Ukraine.
The number of refugees fleeing the war in Ukraine has crossed 77 million. In Poland alone, more than 40 million people have sought refuge. 12 million people went to Russia. Most of the refugees are women and children.
