KYIV (Kyiv) (Reuters) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Thursday evening that the United States and China cannot tolerate the threat of using nuclear weapons on the sidelines of the Group of 20 (G20) summit to be welcomed.

“(The G20) is a very weighty group of countries, and the weighty statement was already published the day before the summit,” Zelensky said in his regular video address. However, he calls Russia the G19 because he does not consider Russia a member of the G20.

“It is particularly important that the United States and China have agreed to stress that the threat of using nuclear weapons is unacceptable. We all understand who this message is aimed at,” he said.

The White House said that President Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping met on Thursday and agreed that there should be no nuclear war and expressed opposition to the use of nuclear weapons in Ukraine.
