A recent UN Security Council meeting to discuss North Korea’s launch of a military reconnaissance satellite ended empty-handed.
The UN Security Council held an open meeting on 2nd local time, but failed to agree on an official response, such as a statement of condemnation or the adoption of additional sanctions resolutions.
The United States, Japan, and European countries, which requested a meeting, and South Korea, which attended as interested parties, strongly condemned North Korea’s launch attempt.
However, China and Russia lapped up North Korea, saying it was a legal act according to the ROK-US joint training.
