Qatar, host country of the 2022 World Cup, showed its mighty ‘oil money power’ by scattering gift packs in every seat of 60,000 spectators at the opening ceremony. Football fans who visited the website boasted their donations on social media and bought envy from around the world.

On the evening of the 20th (Korea time), the opening ceremony of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar was held at the Albaite Stadium in Alkor, Qatar.

On this day, cloth bags with various souvenirs were distributed to all the spectators at the Part-Time Stadium. Fans who visited the stadium were amazed at the spectators’ seats with tens of thousands of bags, and took pictures of them.

In addition, some fans took the souvenirs in the bag one by one and explained them and uploaded an unboxing video. The bag was filled with various souvenirs, including a doll of La’eeb, the World Cup mascot, cups, soccer balls, T-shirts, towels, badges, stickers, and an infinity-shaped trophy model.

After the opening ceremony, photos and videos of fans receiving the bags were poured onto various SNS channels. Fans went back to the dorm and spread souvenirs and posted pictures they took, expressing their instinctive joy.

Netizens who saw this expressed their envy by leaving reactions like “Oil money power class”, “Wow, this is a rich country, really”, and “It’s worth taking an unboxing video”.
