Mancheri ∙ The First Additional Sessions Court sentenced the husband to one year rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 25,000 in the unnatural torture case of his wife. Judge S. Nazira sentenced the thirty-six-year-old, a native of Amarambalam Chulliyot. If he does not pay the fine, he will be imprisoned for another 3 months.
The complaint is that he was brutally tortured at home and in his family home between 2010 and 2015. According to the complaint, he took Pawan’s 35 pieces of gold jewelery given at the time of marriage and demanded more money and tortured her saying that her beauty was not enough. The charge sheet was submitted by P. Abdul Basheer, Inspector of Nilambur. C. Vasu appeared for the prosecution. 18 witnesses were examined.
