The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries announced that it will hold the ‘2022 Korea Fisheries Exhibition’, a seafood price discount event for 17 days from tomorrow (20th) to the 6th of next month.
Target items include squid and mackerel, pollock and cutlassfish, six popular fish species such as kiwi (oysterfish) and dried anchovies, and packaged sashimi (pork, flounder), which has increased household consumption due to the prolonged ‘COVID-19’.
12 offline companies including E-Mart, Homeplus, Lotte Mart, GS Retail, and E-Mart Traders, and 19 online shopping malls including SSG.com, Coupang, and WeMakep will participate in the special exhibition.
The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries provides a 20% discount with a limit of 10,000 won per person. In addition to the participating companies’ own discount, consumers can purchase event items at a discount of up to 40% per item.
In addition, consumers can purchase mobile seafood gift certificates that can be used in traditional markets up to KRW 200,000 at a 20% discount through the Zero Pay App.
The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries explained that this special exhibition is the first event prepared with 21 billion won secured from the second supplementary budget.
