Riyadh: The Riyadh Keli Arts and Culture Forum has demanded the withdrawal of the Central Government’s order revoking the exemption for expatriates to travel home without a PCR certificate in case of emergency.
Those who had to go home for urgent needs, including death, were earlier allowed to travel without a PCR check. The exemption was withdrawn by the Central Government. Only those who have uploaded a negative certificate on the Air Convenience Portal can now go home. PCR test results take different times in different countries.
The Keli Secretariat said it was “absolutely reprehensible” that the central government was coming up with such a move that would directly affect expatriates as many Gulf countries are withdrawing their Kovid restrictions, including masks and social distance, and returning to normal living conditions. The Keli Secretariat also demanded that such a decision, which is troubling expatriates, be withdrawn and the situation of going home without a PCR test in an emergency be maintained.
