Urgent Lee Jae-myung, clarifies the growing suspicion of ‘Baekhyun-dong development preference’

Lee Jae-myung, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, began an active rebuttal when the investigation into ‘the suspicion of preferential treatment for apartment development in Baekhyeon-dong’ accelerated. However, even though the circumstances surrounding the involvement of Rep. Lee’s aides in the related case are being revealed, there is no explanation for the core allegations, and the suspicion seems to deepen.

Rep. Lee countered the report on the 2nd that the police had secured documents related to the development of an apartment in Baekhyeon-dong, Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, saying, “The documents are evidence that legal and necessary administrative procedures have been carried out.”

In a message sent to reporters on the same day, lawmaker Lee explained, “It is an already public document, and it would be a problem if the document was not at City Hall.”

He also criticized, “The chorus of idiots comes to mind.”

On the 1st, a media reported that the police had secured documents related to the ‘upgrade to the 4th level’ approved by Rep. Lee, who was the mayor of Seongnam at the time of Baekhyeon-dong’s development, and Jeong Jin-sang, former policy secretary of Seongnam City.

The core point of this report is that, in 2015, after the development developer Baekhyeon-dong recruited a person who used to be Mayor Lee Jae-myung’s election countermeasures head, Seongnam City was exceptionally privileged to raise the site use from a natural green area to a quasi-residential area by four steps in 2015. .

Lee Jae-myung’s side “Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and Food Research Institute request change of use to quasi-residential land”

Representative Lee explained, “At that time, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Food Research Institute sent 24 official documents to Seongnam City, requesting that the site be changed to a quasi-residential site in Baekhyeon-dong in accordance with Article 43 (3) and (6) of the Special Act on Public Institution Relocation.” did.

He continued, “Seongnam City rejected the requests of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Food Research Institute successively because of concerns about excessive attribution of profits. did,” he explained.

He continued, “There is a sarcasm about the seizure and search of the dormitory of the Gyeonggi-do construction company, which is already known to have been verified through police investigations and media coverage, as a nonsense camp.” Bringing out the legal administrative documents of the business and making embarrassing fuss only aggravates distrust.”

Lee Jae-myung’s aides go beyond intervening in Baekhyun-dong’s development to threats

Despite this explanation from Rep. Lee, the suspicion of preferential treatment for Baekhyun-dong’s development continues to grow. This is because the circumstances of the involvement of Lee’s aides in the licensing process of Seongnam City are coming out one after another.

The police also secured the circumstances in which former CEO Kim In-seop (69), who is suspected of exerting influence over the licensing process in Seongnam City, threatened to “handed over the stake to me” to the CEO of Asia Developer Jeong Mo (66), a developer in Baekhyun-dong. passed on

Former CEO Kim served as the head of the predecessor’s campaign when Rep. Lee ran for Seongnam mayor in 2006, and is an aide who helped lawmaker Lee in the 2010 Seongnam mayoral election.

Seongnam City twice rejected the application for change of use from CEO Jeong, who was promoting the construction of an apartment on the site of the former Korea Food Research Institute in Baekhyeon-dong in 2014. However, in January of the following year, CEO Jeong recruited former CEO Kim, and in September of the same year, Seongnam City changed the land use from a natural green area to a semi-residential residence.

In addition, it was revealed that lawmaker Lee used his business expenses eight times at Kim’s regular restaurant in 2014 while he was in office as mayor of Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province.

Cha Jae-won, a professor at the Catholic University of Korea, said in a phone call with the New Daily on the same day, “The investigation process against Rep. Lee Jae-myung is leaking out in the media, so Assemblyman Lee will have no choice but to respond like this.”

Regarding the explanation of the lawmaker Lee’s ‘conservative media, take care of yourself’, he estimated, “Since we do not know the investigation process, there are limited options for clarification, so we could only say that.”
