[Reuters]— NASA Secretary Bill Nelson announced on the 31st that the Byden administration has pledged to continue operating the International Space Station (ISS) until 2030.
According to Secretary Nelson, the Biden administration has pledged to work with international partners, including Russia, to continue the operation of the ISS.
The US Congress currently approves ISS-related spending by 2024, and if other partner countries approve the extension, the ISS will continue to operate until 2030.
The United States and Russia have been working closely on the ISS for over 20 years. Russia’s Interfax news agency reported in August that Russia and the United States will continue to cooperate on the ISS after 2024, according to a senior official of the state-owned space corporation Roscosmos.
