Joe Biden’s administration is distributing free COVID-19 testing kits to combat the rapidly spreading omicron mutation.

The New York Times and CNN reported that a high-ranking US government official announced that it would open a COVID-19 testing site on the 19th local time and distribute 500 million rapid COVID-19 test kits by mail for free.

This follows President Biden’s promise in December of last year that the government would purchase 500 million home rapid COVID-19 testing kits and distribute them to the public for free.

President Biden announced on the 13th that he would purchase an additional 500 million test kits, bringing the total to 1 billion.

If you request test kits through this site, they will be delivered within 7-12 days, and quantities are limited to 4 test kits per household for wide distribution.

The New York Times said that it would have to be the end of January at the earliest for Americans to be able to receive the test kit, and said that in some areas, it could be a point past the peak of the spread of COVID-19.

Purchasing and distributing 500 million test kits costs about 4 billion dollars, or about 4.761 trillion won in Korean money.
