USA could be at war with China in two years: US general – US air force general | China | United States | General Mike Minihan

Washington – US Air Force Chief of Staff Michael A. Minihan said the US could be at war with China within two years. He, who is also the head of the Air Mobility Command, said this in a letter to the soldiers. After the letter was widely circulated on social media, senior military officials clarified that Minihan’s response was not the official US position. The date written in the letter is 1 February, 2023.

In the letter, he says, “I believe we will be at war with China in 2025.” Chinese President Xi Jinping has been elected General Secretary of the Communist Party of China for the third time. A War Council was also formed in October 2022. In 2024, the United States and Taiwan will hold presidential elections. The letter states that China may increase its military operations to invade Taiwan during this period. He also asks the soldiers to be prepared for this.

The letter came out as the United States Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken was about to visit China. Last August, the Chinese military conducted large-scale exercises, including firing missiles over Taiwan, in response to a visit to Taiwan by then US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, despite China’s objections. Senior US officials have previously warned that China could attack Taiwan, citing its rapid military expansion. Meanwhile, Minihan’s letter came out.
