(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Hoon Kwon = Louis Usthizen (South Africa) gave up his participation one day before the Wyndham Championship, the last tournament of the PGA Tour regular season.

Ustheesen is the only player who applied for the Wyndham Championship, which starts on the 13th (Korean time), and is in the top 10 in the FedEx Cup rankings.

Strong contender Ustheesen’s withdrawal is expected to be a variable in the competition for the title.

Ustheesen did not win a championship this year, but was ranked 8th in the FedEx Cup rankings eight times, including runners-up 4 times and 3rd place 2 times. In particular, in the majors alone, he finished 2nd and 3rd place once.

The reason for the abstention is unknown, but it appears that they are committed to the playoffs.

Earlier, Patrick Reed (USA) also withdrew two days before the competition.
