In the second quarter of this year, more than 680,000 jobs were added from a year ago, the largest increase since statistics were compiled.
According to Statistics Korea on the 25th, the total number of wage-earning jobs in the second quarter of this year was 19,577,000, an increase of 681,000 from a year ago. This is the largest increase since the first quarter of 2018, when statistics began to be compiled. The National Statistical Office explained that the situation was not so good last year, so the base effect was reflected.
In particular, the number of jobs in the health and social welfare sector, which had been steadily increasing, increased by 192,000 from a year ago, the largest increase since statistics were compiled in the second quarter.
By age, wage-earning jobs of all age groups increased, but only wage-earning jobs in their 30s showed a slow recovery.
There were 4.3 million jobs in their 30s, a decrease of 17,000 from last year.
