Since the “blank paper revolution” began, student movements have spread across campuses. Yesterday (11th), demonstrations broke out again at the West China College of Clinical Medicine, Sichuan University.

Twitter user “Ms Li is not your teacher” revealed that about 300 medical students staged a demonstration on campus to protest that the clinical medical school not only requires students to do high-intensity work, but also does not n allowing students to take holidays; When I was working, I faced the dilemma of unequal pay for equal work. The salary of a master’s student was only 1,000 RMB (about NT$4,000), and the interns had no salary at all, but the usual salary of a doctor and he performed. the same time was more than 10,000 RMB.

It can be seen from the video that the students are marching on campus, marching from the campus library to West China Hospital. On the way, the students chanted slogans, “Equal pay for equal work, no double standards! Return home voluntarily, don’t threaten.” Later the senior officials of the school came to the scene to discuss with the students, and even said that “there has been no such thing in Huaxi for more than 100 years.”

The day’s march ended after the school’s senior managers verbally agreed to the students’ request. Many netizens left messages of support for the students, “Well done! Medical (personnel) should have been respected and paid.” Some netizens said, “It seems that in the future (China) will go into different protests, rallies and demonstrations. It’s normal, and gradually everyone gets used to it, and it’s a very basic appeal.”

Although demonstrations have become more and more common in China after the “blank paper revolution”, “Ms Li is not your teacher” he later added that some netizens said that because they were afraid of police intervention, the students who marched that day dared to expand the demonstration outside the campus. So, it remains to be seen whether demonstrations in China have become regular.
