An interesting moment in the Pakistan Super League match between Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United is the talk of the cricket world. The video of Pakistan captain Babar Azam running towards the bowler who was standing in the way while hitting a single is going viral on social media.
The incident happened during Peshawar’s innings. Babar plays a shot against Hasan Ali and tries for a single. But running towards the end of the non-strikers, Babar sees Hasan Ali standing in front of him.
After the single, Babar ran as if raising his bat to hit Hasan Ali. Realizing that the Pakistan captain’s arrival was not that much of a ball, Hasan immediately changed the way and the player would have completed the single.
The commentators and those in the stadium laughed after seeing Babar’s act. After the single, Babar and Hasan Ali had spoken to each other.
Babar scored an unbeaten 75 off 58 balls in the match. There were seven fours and one six in Babar’s innings.
Peshawar Zalmi, who lost the toss and batted first, scored 156 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the stipulated over. Apart from Babar, wicketkeeper Mohammad Haris was the only one who held his bat slightly. The player got 40 runs off 21 balls.
Seven batsmen in the Peshawar line-up were out for one run. Hasan Ali took three wickets for Islamabad, while the others took one wicket each except Tom Curran.
Batting in response, United won with 31 balls to spare thanks to the fireworks of opener Rahmatullah Gurbaz and third-stringer Razi van der Dusen. Gurbas are the star of the game.
Salmi has four points from four games with two wins and two losses. Salmi’s next match is on February 26. The opponents are Lahore Qalandars.
