(Video) Jung Eun-bo “Strengthening prior supervision of securities companies…Improving retirement pensions by introducing default options”

Financial Supervisory Service Commissioner Jeong Eun-bo said that it would strengthen the regular monitoring function of securities companies to detect vulnerable areas in advance.

At the first meeting with CEOs of securities companies since taking office on the 23rd, President Jeong explained the direction of future supervision and inspection of securities companies and exchanged opinions on major issues in the securities business and the capital market.

Regarding the supervision and inspection of securities companies, he said that he plans to apply the three principles of reinforcing preventive supervision to protect investors while pursuing a balance between pre- and post-supervision in accordance with laws and principles. However, he added that if a securities company voluntarily improves the problem and takes action, the result will be respected.

He also expressed his intention to improve the retirement pension market system and support the development of pension products, including the introduction of default options required by the securities industry.

“Security companies have come to stand at the center of market risks due to the expansion of the capital market and the expansion of securities companies,” said President Jung. .
